Midlife is our official Grown-Ass Woman version
of Carefree Black Girl.
Maybe we don’t need another breakthrough. Maybe we need plans for Friday night.
The LifeBliss community is a private community for Black women in midlife where we can talk about what we want, what we’re trying, what we enjoy, and how we actually want to live, without the judgment, policing, and trolling that comes with putting your business all over the internet.
LifeBliss is choosing joy, pleasure, and freedom over performance, sacrifice, and survival.
Because we’re no longer giving out fucks, seeking permission, or obsessing over healing journey discourse.
We’ve done hard things. Some of us may still be doing hard things. But there’s still so much life to be lived, and we need to have more fun.
What does “Grown-Ass Woman version of Carefree Black Girl” mean?
It doesn’t mean being reckless or irresponsible.
It means you’re experienced enough to know what matters to you, and grown enough to stop needing everybody else to agree.
It means trusting yourself enough to want what you want, change your mind, try something new, and do things simply because you think you’d enjoy them.
It means pleasure without guilt, rest without earning it first, freedom without asking permission, and a whole lot more “I would like to do that” followed by actually doing it.
Why We Begin with a Manifesto
Personal growth often starts with someone telling you what to do.
LifeBliss starts by asking what you want to do.
For the first 21 days, we’re going to spend some intentional time figuring out what you actually want.
Not what you should want.
Not what sounds responsible or impressive.
Not what everybody else thinks makes sense.
What do you want more of?
What sounds fun?
What would you like to try?
What have you been curious about?
What would make your ordinary Tuesday better?
What do you want simply because you would like it?
Some of it might change your life. Some of it might be completely frivolous.
Good.
By the end of the 21 days, you’ll have your own LifeBliss Manifesto: a declaration of what you want, what you’re choosing, what you’re done organizing your life around, and what you want your life to have more of.
We Do This Together
I’ll give you something to think about, talk about, or play with as you zoom in on what you actually want more of in your life.
Some of it may be big freakin’ deals.
Some of it may be simple and ordinary.
Some of it may surprise you.
And some of it may be something you’ve known you wanted for years.
You’ll be doing it alongside other Black women in midlife who are asking themselves the same questions, sharing what comes up, swapping ideas, and occasionally saying, “Oh yeah, me too.”
And then we keep living.
LifeBliss doesn’t end on Day 21.
The community stays open as a private place to talk about what we want, what we’re trying, what we’re enjoying, what we’ve changed our minds about, and whatever else is going on in our lives.
It’s a place where you can say, “I would really like to…” without having to explain why it’s practical, productive, or profound.
Because not everything has to be all sappy. Not every desire needs a deeper meaning. And you definitely don’t need to turn every single thing into another self-improvement project.
Sometimes you just want to do something because you would like to do it.
